In collaboration with POLI.design and the Polytechnic University of Milan, Rubinetterie Treemme recently concluded "AD AQUAM": a significant, successful workshop aimed at promoting a design and research culture in the world of taps.
The workshop is just the first step of a broader collaboration Rubinetterie Treemme was extremely keen to undertake, with a view to actively engaging the students of the University in a series of activities of major educational and training value.
With AD AQUAM, Rubinetterie Treemme shared its business know-how with the students, providing useful indications and methods for the development of innovative, sustainable taps, in keeping with the company’s philosophy and values.
The active participation of the students in the workshop is indicative of the importance of collaboration between the world of industry and the academic environment in the promotion of innovation and research in the design sector. Rubinetterie Treemme has always been committed to supporting and encouraging up-and-coming talent, offering young people a unique opportunity to put their skills and creative ideas into practice.
The winner of the competition, announced during Milano Design Week 2024, is SLOT: an innovative project by the students Cayetana Galán González, Carlos García Corredor, Luca Matturro and Itziar Telleria Flores, designed for high-end hospitality settings.
SLOT is a tap that aims to improve the “cold start” system. Its intuitive, user-friendly design aligns user expectations with the result of the product, eliminating the discrepancies that might suggest the tap does not function as it should. The project approach sought to foster greater water and energy saving, thus making it both environmentally and economically sustainable for customers.
The six projects presented by the students were judged by the company, operators in the sector and visitors to the installation dedicated to the workshop, located in the area outside the ADI Design Museum during Milano Design Week 2024.
Thanks to the constant support of Rubinetterie Treemme, which guided the study groups step by step, and the teachers Matteo Ingaramo and Federico Elli, assisted by Emanuel Pacelli and coordinated by Eugenia Chiara, both the winning project and the others that took part in the workshop - ACQUAFLOW, AEQUO, ELLE, HYPERMILER and VISIFLOW - demonstrated impressive innovation, design, research and originality.
