Rubinetterie Treemme continues to invest in the future of design and sustainability with the second edition of the AD AQUAM 25 workshop, in collaboration with POLI.design and the Design School in Milan.
The event offered young designers the opportunity to exchange ideas regarding new design and manufacturing solutions aimed at saving water and boosting energy efficiency.
The students’ projects were assessed by the company and by experts in the sector, during Milano Design Week 2025 at the ADI Design Museum. Following a careful selection process, the winner was announced:
COL PENSIERO, devised by: Bianca Furtunescu, Chanidapa Savangvarorose, Estelle Van de Winckel, Federico Thiele, Milica Vukovic
A system of taps and interfaces that uses the principles of behavioural design to foster awareness of the need to save water, with intuitive symbols designed to encourage sustainable usage. The COL PENSIERO tap features a dynamic interface that provides feedback on the water consumption in real time, showing both the amount being consumed when the tap is running and the total amount for the day. Thanks to its simple, unobtrusive design, the interface slots smoothly into any tap collection, featuring as an additional system while preserving the distinctive identity of Rubinetterie Treemme.
This project was chosen for its ability to combine design, technology and sustainability, offering an innovative response to the demands of the sector and the values of the company.
The success of this second edition consolidates the synergy established between the worlds of academia and industry, mapping out new directions for the future of tap design.
Thanks to the constant support of Rubinetterie Treemme, which actively accompanied the students throughout the design process, and to the expert guidance provided by the teachers Matteo Ingaramo and Federico Elli, assisted by Eugenia Chiara and Emanuel Pacelli, all the projects that took part in the workshop demonstrated excellent levels of innovation and original design, standing out for their impressive style and technical research:
